Introduction to Music Video

We recently finished the commercial project. I've learned a lot from the project including what I should and shouldn't do. The storyboard helped with planning what each scene would look like overall. We figured out the lighting, location, and camera angles. The editing process was more difficult because it was a lot of trial and error. Thankfully, I know how to work the editing software (Pinnacle Studios) now. This will make  the editing process a lot less rigorous.
My partner Kaitlyn and I  decided to do the song "Secret" by the Pierces. It is more of a suspense thriller theme which is what we wanted to do. The song indirectly mentions murder, so the audience can assume that something bad will happen. This song is commonly known for being in the T.V. show Pretty Little Liars, so we are going to take some inspiration from that. We also have a few ideas of how and where we want to film which is helpful. We want to include a darker theme because it fits the suspense thriller genre.
For costumes, we wanted to wear something fancy and plain like a single colored dress. This fits the overall theme because we wanted our actors to seem like rich teenage girls who have a love hate friendship. For lighting, we want to have a few scenes with the silhouette of the actor so the audience can only see the outline of the person. We want to use darker and unnatural light to make it seem more suspenseful. The actors will be Kaitlyn and I, because it would be easier to meet up and record the video. The actors will be nice towards each other, and then start to show their true colors. For makeup, we were thinking of red lipstick at times, and natural looks. As the video progresses, the actors will get more makeup that looks like bruises and cuts. We aren't sure of all props, but we are thinking of using a mallet, glass cups, makeup, and an older phone. We will film mainly in front of white backgrounds, hallways, in my room, and Kaitlyn's dining room.
